After the consultation, the doctor records the outcome and explains the next step. If an electronic prescription is clinically issued, it follows the secure destination connected to your booking. If no prescription is issued, the doctor may provide advice, recommend monitoring, or direct you to in-person or urgent care.
A prescription is only one possible outcome
The consultation fee covers the doctor's time and clinical assessment. It does not guarantee a prescription, referral, certificate, diagnosis or particular treatment.
The doctor must decide independently whether prescribing is lawful, safe and clinically appropriate. Telehealth may not provide enough information for every concern.
If an electronic prescription is issued
- A direct booking can use the prescription destination selected during the booking flow.
- A booking started through a partner pharmacy keeps the authorised pharmacy destination connected to that booking.
- Medicine, dispensing, delivery and postage charges are separate from the telehealth consultation fee.
If you need in-person care
Follow the doctor's recommendation and arrange the suggested care. Pharmacia Telehealth is designed for episodic, non-emergency consultations and does not replace ongoing care from your regular GP.
