Pharmacia shows the scheduled consultation allocation before you pay. The actual phone or video conversation may be shorter or longer because the doctor must respond to the information provided and decide whether telehealth remains appropriate. A more complex concern may need another appointment, testing or in-person care.
Scheduled time and clinical time are different
A scheduled allocation helps organise appointment availability. It does not require the doctor to keep the call open for a fixed duration or to complete an assessment when telehealth is not suitable.
Help the appointment run clearly
- Be ready at the selected time in a private place.
- Keep relevant medicine labels, records and questions nearby.
- Use a reliable phone or internet connection.
- Focus on the concern selected in the booking.
When more care is needed
The doctor may recommend a longer or separate consultation, your regular GP, testing, an in-person assessment or urgent care when the concern cannot be handled safely within the appointment.
